Emma Bamford BSc (hons) MSc, MCSP
Emma qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of Brighton in 2006. She began to work as a junior physiotherapist gaining experience in orthopaedic, care of the elderly and general musculoskeletal out-patients.
Emma then specialised in hand therapy whilst working at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, and then joined the Pulvertaft Hand Unit at Derby in 2008. She continues to work as a senior hand physiotherapist for the NHS at the Hand unit at Derby and has also set up hand clinics in Derby in order to give patients the flexibility to be treated in the local community.
Emma has highly specialised skills in the treatment of hand conditions and injuries. She can provide all aspects of hand therapy including exercise prescription and splint fabrication along with many other treatment modalities to enable you to re-gain the use of the greatest tools we own - our hands.
Emma is a member of the British Association of Hand Therapy (BAHT) and an accredited Hand Therapist.

Katie Horton Bsc (hons) Physiotherapy
Katie qualified as a physiotherapist in 2011 from Sheffield Hallam University. She began to work at Chesterfield Royal Hospital working as rotational physiotherapist, and then came to Derby in 2012 and continued her professional development, gaining experience in musculoskeletal out-patients, intensive care, learning disabilities and hand therapy. In 2013 she secured a post in the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby and began to specialise in hand therapy.
Katie is highly specialised in treating patients with acute injuries such as tendon repairs, fractures, nerve repairs, ligament injuries and soft tissue lacerations. She can also effectively manage chronic conditions such as wrist pain, OA, dequervains and tennis elbow.
She can provide advice regarding off the shelf splints and fabricate custom made thermoplastic splints where necessary. Katie has a special interest in taping techniques and can advise you on the application of kinesiology and dynamic taping for a wide variety of conditions.
